40 Days of Prayer and Fasting
October 13 - November 21 2021
Theme: “Overwhelmed”
Between October 13 and November 21, FFC is seeking to have its flock pray (almost) round the clock, fasting as God leads, too. We have a public spreadsheet available that will allow you to sign up to pray for 15-minute prayer slots between 5am and 11pm. Let’s engage in constant prayer to God for him to overwhelm us with his strength, love, and fullness.
Step 1: Read Ephesians 3:14–19. Also, read the suggested verses in the prayer prompts below.
Step 2: Pray along these 3 lines specifically for people by name—your family and friends, your small group, FFC’s leadership (elders, deacons, and staff), our partners, our church plants, our ministry team leaders, etc.
- For inner, Spirit-enabled strength for the flock at FFC (v 16). Pray for the Holy Spirit to manifestly and actively display his power on behalf of the FFC flock, both personally and corporately, so that they are overwhelmingly strengthened in their “inner person” (2 Cor. 4:16). Pray for increased endurance and perseverance in the middle of trials, and for steady commitment to the mission of God for the glory of God.
- For 360-degree comprehension of God’s love by the flock at FFC (vs 18-19). Pray for the Father, Son, and Spirit to overwhelmingly flood the hearts of our people with God’s love to the extent that we love like he loves. Pray we are increasingly taught by God how to love one another (1 Thess. 4:9) so that the world would know we are his disciples (John 13:35).
- Pray that the FFC flock would be filled to overflowing with all of God (v 19). Pray that our church, both individually and collectively, would know and experience God in ways that are overwhelming, indescribable, and unforgettable. Through his Word and by his Spirit, pray that God would “fill all things” (Eph. 4:10) with his presence and power.
