FFC Scripture Journal

Why a journal?

- It helps you retain and revisit God’s truth. Hearing or reading God’s Word is only the first step; writing it down helps anchor truth in your mind and heart. A notebook like this becomes a personal record you can return to for encouragement, correction, and reminders of God’s faithfulness.

- It bridges the gap between hearing and living. The prompts move you from simply listening or reading to actively applying God’s Word. By asking “How can I apply this by God’s grace?” you’re intentionally turning insights into action steps for real-life obedience.

- It fosters growth in community and prayer. This tool doesn’t just help you privately; it equips you to share your takeaways, Scriptures, and applications with others—whether in a Small Group, family conversation, or discipleship relationship—while also giving space to pray for yourself and others in light of what you’ve learned.

What's in this journal?

This journal is designed to help you engage deeply with God’s Word, both during sermons and in your personal Bible study.

The first section (beginning on page 8) features half a year’s worth—26 weeks—of sermon notes. Take this each Sunday to church and use it to capture your notes from the teaching. Let it guide you in capturing key points, Scriptures, and personal applications from sermons.

The second section (beginning on page 36) gives you half a year’s worth—182 days—of personal Bible study notes. This section is tailored for personal or group Bible study, helping you reflect, apply, and pray through what you read. Each page is laid out to help you stay organized, remember what you’ve learned, and take practical steps in response to God’s truth.
