Sermon Text: 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

“Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel I preached to you, which you received, on which you have taken your stand and by which you are being saved, if you hold to the message I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”

1. What does the average American think makes someone a “Christian?”

2. According to our text, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, what gospel content must a Christian believe?

3. Look over the handout of various types of American Christians. Which one strikes you as the most prevalent in your sphere of influence? 

4. Do you know and believe the true gospel? Describe your gospel contact experience.

5. Do you ever wrestle with doubt? What kinds of questions do you wrestle with?
