Family Devotional Guide – January 17
Becky Doubleday   -

You are made in the image of God. Stop, read that again, and let it soak in just for a minute.

Have you ever been told you look or act like one of your parents? How does that make you feel? If you ask a child, they will probably think it’s cool. If you ask a teenager, they might roll their eyes and sigh. As an adult, that may bring a variety of emotions to your heart and mind.

As children of God, we are to bear the image of our Creator. He delights in us, He knows everything about us, and He desires to have a personal relationship with us. Your Heavenly Father loves you. He chose YOU to be living evidence of Him, who He is, and what His Son has done for us. It is so important for us to spend time in His Word and prayer so we can get to know Him.

Individually or as a family, here are some things you can do this week:

  1. Pray! Pray for babies. Pray for our nation to find value in all human life. Pray for courage for God’s people to stand up for His truth.
  2. Get involved! Connect with Alpha Women’s Center or Agape Pregnancy Resource Center and find ways to give your time, talents, or finances. Also, pray for them.
  3. Make, build, or bake something!  Talk about how it feels to make something.
  4. Share! If you have children, share about the first time you got to see them and how you felt. Share the stories of when you found out you were pregnant or their special gotcha day story.
