Family Devotional Guide – April 11
Travis Walker   -

The Key verses from today’s sermon are Ephesians 3:11-12. Please take a moment and reread them before we discuss them.

“This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.”

These verses teach us that those who have faith in Christ also gain access to God the Father. Think about that, you and I, because we have faith in Christ, get to be known as children of God. We get the same access to God the Father that Jesus, the Son of God, has to His father.

A pastor once asked his church, “Who has the right to barge into a King’s bedroom and wake him up at 2 am without fear of great punishment? The answer is his kids. Church, you and I have that kind of access to God the Father!” We like that fictional King’s kids have the same kind of relationship with God the Father! Isn’t that fantastic news!

As a family, couple, or as friends, I would love for you to discuss the questions below.

Family Discussion Questions:

  1. Describe in your own words what it feels like to be a son or daughter of God.
  2. Is it hard to believe that we have access to God the father? Why or why not?
  3. Because of the access we have to God the Father, how should we interact with him? In what ways should we enjoy the access we have?
  4. What daily habits should you add to your life to enjoy the access you have?

Prayer: Now, spend a moment in His presence in a time of prayer. Take a moment and thank God for the access you have to Him.
