Lead

Ready to lead? We're always on the lookout for the next ministry leader, Small Group leader, deacon, or elder. True leadership at First Family is one of serving the mission of Christ, with everything pointing back to developing devoted followers of Jesus Christ who celebrate, grow, and serve for the glory of God. The various leadership opportunities are listed below.

Ministry Leaders

Certain men or women will be assigned by the Elders to lead specific ministries inside of the church. These individuals must be people of character and integrity that the Elders believe have been gifted or called by God to lead. Examples of these are: Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, GO Team, etc. These individuals will report to the Elders and be held accountable by the Elders.

Small Group Leaders

Small Groups are our main arm of discipleship and community at First Family. Our Small Group leaders are godly individuals or couples who are ready to invest in and shepherd the people in their group.

Deacons

Deacons are biblically qualified men with proven, godly character who consistently serve the church under the authority of the Elder Body. It is not that these men only have special assignments, though at times they might; it is, instead, that these men have regular assignments and serve the physical areas of the church consistently as a model of faithfulness and humility. (See Acts 6:1-7; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:8-13; et. Al.)

Elders

The Elders are the overseers (“shepherds”) of this local church (1 Peter 5:22). The ministry of overseeing the congregation of First Family Church includes praying for the members of the congregation, individually and corporately; teaching sound doctrine (Titus 1:9); refuting false teaching (Titus 1:9); directing the affairs of the church (1 Timothy 5:17) and serving as an example of Christian life (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9). Together, the Elders, of whom the Lead Pastor is part, make up the Elder board and share the responsibility and authority to give pastoral leadership in the church.
