January 31 3:00 pm | Worship Center
Join Pastor Todd for the first quarterly Q&A about missions and culture at 3pm in the Worship Center. This is an in-person event only. Here’s more info from Pastor Todd:
When you think about all that is happening across the globe with our partners (i.e., missionaries), as well as all that is going on in the culture, one can quickly realize the challenge our pastors face in communicating and conversing about so many different things if they only rely on the Sunday service/gathering. Add to this the protocols and parameters we rightfully place upon our communication due to many of our partners being in closed countries, as well as our clear commitment to keeping the Word of God front and center each Sunday, and the challenge is exacerbated. What gives?
Enter First Person: Quarterly Conversations with Todd about Missions and Culture.
On each 5th Sunday in 2021 at 3pm, I’ll hold a town-hall style gathering in the Worship Center of FFC to update our faith family on things particularly related to missions and culture, noting how they potentially intersect and the possible intended and unintended consequences of them. There will be guests, Q & A, and insightful perspective meant to help our spiritual body walk distinctly and missionally in this age of confusion, division, and distraction.
Many small groups meet on Sunday afternoons, so consider coming as a group when First Person is held. It’s only once each quarter, and could be a community-building, conversation starting opportunity for your group. There will be no childcare, the event isn’t live-streamed, and there are no plans to post the full conversation at a later date. Odd as it seems in a COVID world, this is an in-person event only where many details shared will be securely specific.
So if you’re curious about our partners in least-access areas and/or have questions about cultural issues, consider attending First Person. It launches Sunday, January 31, 2021, and topics for this initial one include, Lord willing, a closer look at gospel work in Southeast Asia (live interview), an update on the 435 Network (FFC’s church plants), and a comparison of patriotism, nationalism, and messiahism (with a helpful expose of false political prophets and propaganda). And Q & A mixed in all along the way!
