Ephesians 2:1–9

Introduction Questions

1. What is one topic that really excites you? What is a topic you could talk about for hours?

2. Tell a story of someone who came to faith in Christ that you never thought would believe in Him.

3. Ephesians 2 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. What would you say is your favorite chapter of the Bible or one of your favorite chapters?

 

Observation Questions

1. According to verses 1-3, what were we like before we believed in Christ? What did this look like in your life?

2. According to verses 4-6, what happened to us when we believed in Christ? What did this look like in your life?

3. According to verses 7-9, what is the purpose or the ultimate goal of our salvation? What might this look like?

4. What about Sunday’s sermon stuck out to you or challenged you? What did you learn, love, or were reminded of?

 

Personal Reflection Questions

1. Why do you think that every religion in the world, except for Christianity, points to good works instead of solely to a savior? Did you ever believe in good works as the solution to your sin problem?

2. Does your salvation story give 100% credit to God for saving you, or do you ever still cling to some credit? Why is it so hard to give up the credit?

3. Is your life a demonstration of the grace and mercy of God to the world, or are you hiding this amazing story?

4. In light of our text this week and our sermon on Sunday, how might we respond in obedience? What do you think God is asking you to do?
