Ephesians 2:1–9
Introduction Questions
- What is one topic that really excites you? What is a topic you could talk about for hours?
- Tell a story of someone who came to faith in Christ that you never thought would believe in Him.
- Ephesians 2 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. What would you say is your favorite chapter of the Bible or one of your favorite chapters?
Observation Questions
- According to verses 1-3, what were we like before we believed in Christ? What did this look like in your life?
- According to verses 4-6, what happened to us when we believed in Christ? What did this look like in your life?
- According to verses 7-9, what is the purpose or the ultimate goal of our salvation? What might this look like?
- What about Sunday’s sermon stuck out to you or challenged you? What did you learn, love, or were reminded of?
Personal Reflection Questions
- Why do you think that every religion in the world, except for Christianity, points to good works instead of solely to a savior? Did you ever believe in good works as the solution to your sin problem?
- Does your salvation story give 100% credit to God for saving you, or do you ever still cling to some credit? Why is it so hard to give up the credit?
- Is your life a demonstration of the grace and mercy of God to the world, or are you hiding this amazing story?
- In light of our text this week and our sermon on Sunday, how might we respond in obedience? What do you think God is asking you to do?
