Kids Policies and Procedures

After checking in at our Welcome Center in the Student Center, parents can drop their children off at their assigned classrooms 10 minutes before the start of the service. Our check-in system uses state-of-the-art software and registration process in order to ensure that we always have an up-to-date list of kids in classrooms, allergy & medical concerns, and parents receive a unique code in order to pick their children up. Following the service, we ask that you make your way to the classroom to pick your child up before enjoying fellowship with other families. Please have your pick-up tag ready to show the classroom teacher at pick-up.

If you are new to our church, please visit the Plan Your Visit page for general information about our church and how you can feel at home from the start! We believe that security and safety are paramount for having a successful children’s ministry. We do regular background checks on all church staff, elders, deacons, and all volunteers 18 years and older who work with minors. Prior to volunteering in any of our rooms, our helpers will complete an application process.

In addition to this, many of our key leaders in our children’s, youth, and adult ministries are CPR and First Aid certified, and we carefully observe allergy policies.

Finally, we have a state of the art check-in system and trained volunteers that ensure that only approved adults can pick up children after services. You can rest assured that your children will be safe as they learn more about God and develop their faith.

In our efforts to help the children of FFC be as healthy as possible, below are some guidelines for parents and volunteers to be aware of. Thank you for helping us to do our best to keep kids healthy. For some children in our church, a runny nose or slight fever is a minor illness, but for others it becomes hospitalization.  

We ask that children and volunteers stay home if they have any of the following symptoms:

– Fever of 100 or greater
– Runny nose that is green or yellow
– Drainage from ears
– Sore throat
– Rash
– Productive or consistent cough
– Red, goopy eyes
– Vomiting or diarrhea

If your child is exhibiting any of these symptoms, the classroom teacher will notify a member of the children’s ministry staff.  The staff member will make the final decision if parents need to be notified to take the child home.  

Please make sure your child is vomit, diarrhea, and fever free for 24 hours (without Tylenol/ibuprofen) before they come to a classroom.  If they are on antibiotics and eye drops, they need to have that in their system for at least 24 hours before coming to a classroom. 

If your child has chronic problems with asthma or allergies, please let us know, as some of their symptoms may be similar to the ones stated above.
