From Fear to Fellowship | Resources

Intro

After hearing God’s voice in fear, Israel is invited into covenant fellowship through worship, sacrifice, and obedience. The laws God gives shape every area of life, showing His people how holiness and justice flow out of relationship with Him.

The section climaxes with covenant confirmation and a shared meal in God’s presence, revealing that God’s ultimate goal is not distance, but fellowship with His redeemed people.

Quote

“Grace is not opposed to effort; it is opposed to earning.” Dallas Willard

Gospel Connection

The covenant meal points forward to Jesus, whose blood establishes a new covenant, bringing us into true fellowship with God. What once required sacrifices and mediators is fulfilled completely in Christ’s death on the cross. Through Jesus, we are no longer kept at a distance from God but welcomed to His table as sons and daughters. The gospel transforms fearful sinners into people who can joyfully enjoy communion with God.

Response

Pray: Jesus, thank You for making a way for me to know God personally, and help me live in joyful fellowship with You each day.

Do: Take time this week to thank Jesus specifically for His sacrifice.
