Passage: Luke 1:34–38

39 In those days Mary set out and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judah 40 where she entered Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped inside her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and your child will be blessed! 43 How could this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For you see, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped for joy inside me. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill what he has spoken to her!”

Devotional

In Luke 1:39–45, Mary visits Elizabeth, and at the sound of Mary’s greeting, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaps for joy—the first response to the presence of Jesus. Even before His birth, the Son’s presence brought life, joy, and confirmation of God’s promises. Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognizes that Mary is carrying the Lord, reminding us that where Jesus is present, there is blessing and transformation. In the same way, when we welcome Christ into our lives and relationships, His presence stirs joy, faith, and hope within us. No moment is ordinary when the Son is near. He turns simple encounters into sacred ones.

Memory Verse

“And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent his Son as the world’s Savior.” 1 John 4:14
