Intro
God establishes the ongoing rhythms of worship through priestly ministry, sacrifices, lampstand oil, incense, and atonement.
These practices teach Israel that life in God’s presence depends upon continual cleansing, intercession, and worship. Through light, blood, and prayer, God provides a way for sinful people to remain near to a holy God.

Gospel Connection
Jesus is our light, our sacrifice, and our intercessor—fulfilling every element of worship on our behalf. The lampstand points to Christ as the Light of the World, the altar points to His sacrificial death, and the incense points to His continual prayers for His people. Because of the gospel, worship is no longer centered in a tabernacle but in a relationship with the risen Christ. Through Him, we now have continual access to the Father.
