Meeting God at the Mountain (Part 2) | Resources
Intro
God speaks the Ten Commandments directly to His people, revealing both His character and His design for human flourishing.
These commands are given not as a means of earning salvation, but as the covenant response of a people already redeemed by grace. As Israel trembles before God’s voice, they learn that true worship begins with reverence, obedience, and trust in the God who speaks.
Quote
“The law shows us our need for the gospel.” –Martin Luther

Gospel Connection
The law exposes our inability to be righteous on our own. Jesus fulfills the law perfectly and gives us His righteousness by grace. The commandments reveal both God’s holiness and our failure to live up to His standard. Rather than leading us to despair, the law points us to Christ, who obeyed perfectly in our place and empowers us to live transformed lives through the Spirit.
Response
Pray: Lord, show me my need for Your grace through Your Word, and transform my heart to love what You command.
Do: Reflect on one commandment and ask God to transform your heart, not just your behavior.
