Intro

After crossing the Red Sea, Israel bursts into worship. Moses and Miriam lead the people in celebrating God’s victory and faithfulness.

Yet shortly afterward, the realities of the wilderness set in. When the people encounter bitter water at Marah, their celebration turns to complaint. The chapter highlights the tension between remembering God’s past faithfulness and trusting Him in present difficulties.

Quote

“God’s greatest acts of salvation should lead to our deepest acts of worship.” – John Piper

Gospel Connection

The song of Moses celebrates God as a warrior who defeats His enemies and rescues His people. The cross is the ultimate expression of that victory. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, God triumphs over sin and death. Our response to the gospel, like Israel’s response at the Red Sea, should be joyful worship and grateful trust.

Response

Pray: Thank God specifically for the ways He has delivered you in the past.

Do: Write down three ways God has been faithful to you and share them with someone.
