Passion Week Details
It’s Passion Week 2023, and I want to give you some important details regarding our gatherings coming up! Please read on below so you’re fully aware of how each event will look.
April 9 | 8/9:30/11am
At the culmination of Passion Week on Easter Sunday, we’ll rejoice in both the event and expectation of the resurrection narrative of Matthew 28 by gathering with FFC to worship the risen King. Details:
– We’re planning to baptize in each service!
– Kids programming will be available at all three services for birth–5th grade.
– There will be an Easter photo booth available for you to capture a photo of your family!
– We’re expecting each service to be very full. Please make sure you arrive a little earlier than usual to get into the service on time. Due to space and the nature of the service, please help us by filling the Worship Center beginning with stage right/front, and moving to the middle of each row. Our upstairs live-streamed venue will be available in the Youth Room if we run out of space in the Worship Center.
– Parking will be extra tight. To help accommodate, all of our leadership will be parking offsite as usual, and we’re asking all of our Small Group leaders, and anyone else who is willing, to do the same. You can utilize the east plaza lot (just east of the church), Veridian Credit Union to the west, or street parking.
– We’ll be live-streaming all three services.
April 7 | 4:30/6pm
Immerse yourself into the final hours of Christ’s life as described in Matthew 27, seeing what occurred both historically and theologically. Physically and spiritually. Humanly and divinely. FFC’s Good Friday service will help you experience perspectives from Barabbas to the Centurion, and the identity of Jesus will be clearer than ever. If you’ve never been to one of our Good Friday services, the feel of the night will be a somber one. We can’t fully celebrate on Sunday without understanding what happened on Friday. Details:
– Due to the nature of the focus of Good Friday—the crucifixion—there may be some thematic elements of our service that may not be appropriate for young children.
– Childcare for birth–preschool will be available at both services.
– Please consider parking offsite to accommodate for our visitors and church plant members that may be joining us. Feel free to utilize street parking at either service, as well as the east plaza lot at our 6pm service.
– This is an in-person event only.
April 6 | 6pm
Designed to remember the last night Christ was with his disciples, FFC’s Maundy Thursday Service will be rooted in Matthew 26 and will center around communion and prayer, two of the things that occurred on day five of Christ’s final week. Details:
– You can expect the service to last around 45 minutes, and close with an open-ended time of prayer.
– This is an in-person event only.
– There will not be childcare.
We’re looking forward to remembering Christ’s final days, death, and resurrection with you. If you have any questions, please let us know!
