Month of Prayer

Details

As our first and best action, prayer is far more than a program at FFC. It’s a principled way of living and serving. And this May we’ll be putting that into practice for 31 days as we enter into a Month of Prayer and Fasting. This 30-day emphasis will center on suffering, and so we’ll be engaging in Scripture-fed, Spirit-led praying that is centered on verses related to that theme.

There will be two in-person, morning prayer gatherings in May—one to kickoff the month (Monday, May 2) and one to conclude the month (Tuesday, May 31)—from 6:30–7am in the Worship Center.

In between these two in-person gatherings, we will be hosting an online prayer gathering every weekday from 6:30-6:45am.

We urge the sheep of FFC to prioritize both settings and participate with your family and/or friends.

Additionally, we’re suggesting that all Small Groups, if possible, fast during the day they meet as a group, then break the fast when they meet as a group. Fasting turns our heart towards prayer like few things do, creating in us an acute awareness of our true need for what matters most—communion with God.

So join with us in making prayer our first and best action in a concentrated, focused fashion this May. Together, these two disciplines will prove to be avenues of joyful sanctification as we gladly submit to our Lord and humble ourselves under his mighty hand in dependence and surrender.
