Our elementary program covers Kindergarten through 5th grade. FFC strives for children to become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Our program is designed to nurture a love for God and His truth in the heart of your child. We consider it a privilege to partner with families as their children hear the gospel and grow physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Classes meet during the 8:30am and 10:30am services after a brief time of worship with the adults. After you check-in your child in the children’s wing, you will take them into service with you. They will be dismissed verbally after worship and welcome. At that time, they will meet their teachers in the gym area and go to the multipurpose room for a time of kid’s worship. After a time of worship and announcements, they will be dismissed to their classrooms with their teachers. Parents will pick them up using the tag provided at check-in at the end of the service.
Each elementary class includes a Bible lesson, activities, and verse memorization. We designed this time to be fun and educational, and centered around God’s Word. We aim to make the Bible practical, applicable, and relevant to kids. We use The Gospel Project curriculum that speaks to kids and centers on the Gospel. During the school year, our classes have no more than two teachers. We believe it is important for the children and teachers to build a relationship and consistency is one way this happens.
Please check in your elementary child in our children’s wing before going to the Worship Center to begin the service. Our check-in system uses state-of-the-art software and registration processes in order to ensure that we always have an up-to-date list of kids in classrooms, ratios in classes, and parents receive a unique code in order to pick their children up. Following the service, we ask that you make your way to the classroom to pick your child up before enjoying fellowship with other families. Please have your pick-up tag ready to show the classroom teacher at pick-up.
We believe it is important for kids to experience communion, worship and a service with their families. On the first Sunday of the odd months of the year (Jan, March, May, July, September, & November), we have a family service. All elementary children attend the entire service with their family. This allows families to talk about the importance of communion together. We encourage children, when the parents feel they are ready, to participate in communion with the church body. We also believe a family service allows kids and parents to have great discussions about salvation, spiritual growth and their relationship with God during and after church services. A children’s handout is provided for them to follow along and take notes during the service.
